LED Batten Luminaires Selection Guide
LED batten luminaires come as standard, T5 slim, CCT-adjustable and under-cabinet types with sockets; length, power and light color are compared when choosing.
This guide covers what to look at when choosing products in the LED Batten Luminaires category.
Types of LED batten luminaires
Products of very different lengths and power ratings sit together in this category, even though they share the same name:
- Standard batten luminaires: These are models that replace the fluorescent batten luminaire; ACK batten luminaires and the İnoled Verta and Lineo series belong to this group.
- T5 slim luminaires: These are the 4 W, 8 W, 12 W and 16 W models from the İnoled brand. The manufacturer describes this series as switched; its slim housing is meant for tight spaces such as shelves, niches and under cabinets.
- CCT-adjustable, linkable luminaires: In the 5 W, 9 W, 14 W and 18 W models from the ACK brand, the light color is selected with a switch on the housing between 3000 K, 4000 K and 6500 K. The luminaires can be linked to one another; the total power that can be connected together is limited on the product page.
- Under-cabinet luminaires with sockets: These are 2.5 W models with two sockets and an on/off switch; they are listed with a painted DKP steel or stainless steel housing.
- Model with PIR sensor: The 36 W sensor version of the İnoled Verta series turns on when it detects motion.
- High-power 120 cm luminaires: These are the 80 W, 100 W and 120 W models named Kristal from the Cata and MAS brands.
What to look at when choosing an LED batten luminaire
- Length. First measure the length of the run and, if there is one, the length of the old luminaire. In ACK's fixed-light-color models, the 18 W housing is 600 mm, and the 36 W, 54 W and 80 W housings are 1200 mm long. In the İnoled manufacturer data, Verta is given as 60 cm for 18 W and 120 cm for 36 W; in the T5 series, the lengths are 29.5 cm for 4 W, 56.5 cm for 8 W, 87 cm for 12 W and 117.5 cm for 16 W.
- Luminous flux. Because 36 W, 54 W, 80 W and 120 W models all exist at the same 120 cm length, the decision is made by lumens, not length; the product data shows values such as 3900 lm, 5850 lm, 8750 lm and 13160 lm. A high-lumen luminaire on a low ceiling can cause glare.
- Light color. The 3000 K, 4000 K and 6500 K models are separate products; if you expect to make changes in the space later, look at the CCT-adjustable models.
- Environment. The models that state an IP rating are IP20, meaning they are not protected against water. For damp and dusty places, move on to the LED Tri-Proof Luminaires category.
- Housing material. There are housings in aluminum and polycarbonate (PC) together, in PC alone, or in steel; for under-cabinet models, the choice is between painted steel and stainless steel.
- Sensor requirement. Luminaires without a sensor can be switched on by motion using a separate sensor from the Lighting Motion Sensors category; compare the switching power the sensor gives for LED loads with the total power of the run.
The difference between a batten luminaire, LED strip, LED tube and linear luminaire
- LED strip: This is a flexible circuit board; the 12 V and 24 V types are supplied by a separate power supply. A batten luminaire, on the other hand, comes ready with its housing and connects to mains voltage. For concealed lighting and decorative lines, see the LED Strip Products category.
- LED tube: This is a light source that fits into the socket of an existing fluorescent luminaire; it is not a luminaire. Those who want to keep the old housing can look at the LED Tube Lamps category.
- Linear luminaire: Models used to create a line of light on the ceiling, in flush-mounted, surface-mounted or decorative types, are in the Linear Luminaires category.
Brands in this category
- İnoled: Verta, Lineo and T5 series; 3000 K, 4000 K and 6500 K options and the Verta model with PIR sensor.
- ACK: fixed-light-color batten luminaires, CCT-adjustable linkable models and under-cabinet luminaires with sockets.
High-power models named Kristal, 120 cm long, are listed under the Cata and MAS brands.
Order notes
Products are sold by the piece. ACK batten luminaires are sold in the manufacturer's carton; the minimum order quantity is stated on the product page. For MAS Kristal models, 3000 K, 4000 K and 6500 K are given as production options; confirm which light color will be shipped before ordering. You can search for a specific model by its stock code (for example AN28-01213 or CT-2482).

Frequently asked questions
Which LED batten luminaire replaces a 120 cm fluorescent batten luminaire?
To avoid changing the mounting location, an LED batten luminaire of the same length, that is around 120 cm, is chosen. Because very different power ratings such as 36 W, 54 W, 80 W and 120 W exist at this length, make the choice by the luminous flux (lm) in the product data rather than by watts. If you want to keep the old housing, an LED tube instead of a luminaire is also an option; its wiring is arranged according to the manufacturer's diagram.
Can an LED batten luminaire be used in a bathroom or a damp storage room?
The batten luminaires in this category that state an IP rating are IP20. The second digit of the IP code indicates protection against water, and a value of 0 means there is no protection. For damp, dusty or splash-prone places, tri-proof luminaires with a sealed housing are made; determine the required IP rating according to the environmental conditions, the project and the manufacturer's data.
How many luminaires can be connected in a linkable LED batten luminaire?
The number is determined not by the count of luminaires but by the total power. For the linkable ACK models in this category, the product page gives the maximum total power for luminaires connected together; when the power of the luminaires in the run is added up, this value must not be exceeded. Verify from the product page and the manufacturer's instructions whether the connector comes with the product and where the supply point is.
What does T5 LED batten luminaire mean?
T5 is a designation carried over from slim fluorescent tubes; in LED batten luminaires it describes the slim-housing series. The İnoled T5 models in this category are rated 4 W, 8 W, 12 W and 16 W, and the manufacturer describes the series as switched. Because length varies with power, for tight spaces such as shelves and under cabinets, first measure the mounting location and verify the length from the manufacturer's data.
