Digital Voltmeters

A digital voltmeter is a panel-mount measuring device that shows the measured AC or DC voltage as digits on a numeric display. It is fitted in the panel door or on a DIN rail to read the instantaneous voltage value in distribution and generator panels, voltage regulators and DC supply lines. The category includes the Tense DJ-V and RG series, single-phase and three-phase voltmeters of the Entes EVM series, and GEMO and Schneider Electric models; there are measuring ranges such as 1-300 V AC, 1-500 V AC and 1-300 V DC, 36 × 72, 48 × 48, 72 × 72 and 96 × 96 mm housings, and three-digit displays with 9, 14 or 20 mm digit height. Select the measuring range and voltage type by the circuit, single-phase or three-phase measurement by the line to be monitored, the housing dimension by the cut-out dimension in the panel door, the digit height by the reading distance, and the supply voltage by the source in the panel. The Tense RG series also includes models made for voltage regulators that show the input and output voltage of the regulator at the same time. A digital voltmeter is a voltage indicator; it is not a substitute for a panel-mount multimeter that also measures current, power and energy.

How to choose Digital Voltmeters

A digital voltmeter is a panel-mount measuring device that shows the measured AC or DC voltage as digits on a numeric display. It is fitted in the panel door or on a DIN rail to read the instantaneous voltage value in distribution and generator panels, voltage regulators and DC supply lines.

  • Separate sensing, motion control, logic processing and operator interface requirements.
  • Select signal type, supply voltage, communication protocol and I/O count for the machine network.
  • Verify housing size, sensing distance and PNP/NPN output polarity against the PLC input card.
