Fiberglass Sleeves

A fiberglass sleeve is a heat-resistant, non-shrinking insulating covering braided from glass yarn and coated with silicone, PVC or a similar insulator. It is used on electric motor and transformer winding ends and in resistance heater, oven and luminaire connections to protect the insulation of conductors running close to hot surfaces. In this category, Isıso's silicone, PVC and HTG 410 insulated fiberglass sleeves and Konsan fiberglass sleeves are available in inner diameters such as 2 mm, 6 mm, 10 mm and 20 mm, in colors such as white, dark red, blue and green, by the meter or in rolls. Choose the sleeve first according to the coating type suited to the temperature the conductor will reach, then the inner diameter suited to the outer diameter of the cable or bundle, the required insulation voltage and the color. For Isıso products, the upper operating temperature limit is given as +130 °C for the PVC insulated type, +250 °C for the silicone insulated type and +450 °C for the HTG 410 insulated type. A fiberglass sleeve does not shrink when heated; where a tight fit over splices and lugs is required, it does not replace a heat-shrink sleeve.

How to choose Fiberglass Sleeves

A fiberglass sleeve is a heat-resistant, non-shrinking insulating covering braided from glass yarn and coated with silicone, PVC or a similar insulator. It is used on electric motor and transformer winding ends and in resistance heater, oven and luminaire connections to protect the insulation of conductors running close to hot surfaces.

  • Clarify whether the task is connection, cable routing, enclosure distribution or termination.
  • Match dimensions, thread standard, conductor cross-section and IP rating with the cable and panel.
  • Choose housing material and pack quantity according to the mounting environment.
