Insulating Tapes

Insulating tape is a flexible PVC-based electrical insulation tape coated with adhesive on one side, also known as electrical tape. In low-voltage installations it is used to wrap and insulate conductor splices, to gather cable bundles and, thanks to its colors, to mark phase, neutral and protective conductors. This category contains Schneider Electric Thorsman series 19 mm wide 20 m rolls and Globe-branded tapes with 0.13 mm thickness in 19 mm x 9.1 m and 50 mm x 25 m sizes, in colors such as black, red, blue, yellow, green, gray, brown and yellow-green. Choose the width and roll length by the cable diameter to be wrapped and the volume of work, the thickness by the mechanical strength required, the color by the conductor marking scheme, and the temperature and voltage resistance by the manufacturer data. In marking, yellow-green is used only for the protective (earthing) conductor, and blue is the color of the neutral conductor. Insulating tape does not provide a waterproof seal on its own; it cannot replace self-fusing tape on splices exposed to moisture, or a cable splice kit on underground splices.

How to choose Insulating Tapes

Insulating tape is a flexible PVC-based electrical insulation tape coated with adhesive on one side, also known as electrical tape. • Clarify whether the task is connection, cable routing, enclosure distribution or termination.
  • Match dimensions, thread standard, conductor cross-section and IP rating with the cable and panel.
  • Choose housing material and pack quantity according to the mounting environment.

Frequently asked questions

What is Insulating Tapes and where is it used?
