Heat Transfer Pastes
Heat transfer paste, also known as thermal paste, is an interface material that improves heat transfer by filling the microscopic air gaps between a heating electronic component and its heatsink. It is used when mounting power transistors, thyristors, triacs, bridge diodes, solid state relays and LED modules on a heatsink, and in driver and power supply maintenance. This category includes Hawcon silicone heat transfer pastes in 40 g, 150 g, 250 g, 500 g and 1000 g packages. When deciding on the package quantity according to your consumption, compare the thermal conductivity, operating temperature range and electrical insulation values from the manufacturer's data. The paste is applied in a thin, gap-free layer; a layer thicker than necessary impedes heat transfer. Heat transfer paste must not be confused with solder paste: it does not solder and does not make an electrical connection, it only conducts heat.
