Panel Accessories Selection Guide
When selecting panel accessories, compare DIN rails, busbar insulators, fan filters & thermostats, gland plates, document pockets and lock/hinge compatibility.
This guide explains what to look for when choosing products in the Panel Accessories category for low-voltage distribution boards, power factor correction cabinets and industrial automation enclosures.
Internal mounting hardware and busbar insulation
Reliable panel assembly relies on 35 mm DIN rails (TS 35), mounting plates, slotted wiring ducts and busbar supports. To isolate copper busbars from the grounded sheet-metal enclosure and withstand electrodynamic short-circuit forces, select standoff busbar insulators or stepped multipole busbar supports matched to the copper cross-section (e.g. 30×5 mm, 40×10 mm) and bolt thread (M6–M12). Unused modular cutouts on front plates are sealed with DIN blanking strips to maintain IP2X finger-safe protection.
Enclosure climate control (Fan filters, thermostats, heaters) and door hardware
To dissipate heat generated by VFDs, power supplies and harmonic reactors, pair an enclosure filter fan and exhaust filter grille with a normally open (NO) cooling thermostat. In outdoor or unheated kiosks where condensation threatens insulation, pair an anti-condensation panel heater with a normally closed (NC) heating thermostat or hygrostat. Complete the enclosure with A4/A5 schematic document pockets, brush cable entry glands, lifting eyebolts and swinghandle or quarter-turn locks.

Frequently asked questions
Should I use an NO or NC thermostat for a panel cooling fan?
Use a Normally Open (NO — typically blue dial) thermostat for cooling fans so the contact closes when cabinet temperature rises above the setpoint. Use a Normally Closed (NC — typically red dial) thermostat for anti-condensation heaters so the heater turns off once the cabinet warms up.
Why must every filter fan be paired with an exhaust filter grille?
Without an exhaust filter grille of equal or larger free-air cross-section at the top of the enclosure, static pressure builds up inside the cabinet and airflow drops sharply, preventing effective heat dissipation.
How do I size a standoff busbar insulator?
Check the insulator height (30 mm to 80 mm), female insert thread size (M6, M8, M10 or M12), rated insulation voltage and cantilever mechanical load rating against your copper busbar weight and prospective short-circuit current.
