Control Boxes

A control box (push button station) is a closed enclosure with button holes in its cover that allows push buttons and an emergency stop button to be placed on the machine or in the field, independent of the panel. It is used at machine-side start-stop stations where the operator must give the command from the point of work, on conveyor lines, and on cranes operated by pendant control. Standard control boxes are offered empty or with buttons fitted, and crane control boxes in single-speed and two-speed pendant types; the boxes from the brands EMAS, Bemis, Siemens and ABB have plastic, aluminum and metal housings. Select the box by whether it is empty or fitted with buttons, number of button positions, housing material, IP rating, and whether it will be fixed or pendant. With empty boxes, the buttons and contact blocks are purchased separately; verify from the manufacturer data that the hole diameter and box depth suit the button series you will use.
