Stepper Transformers
Stepper transformers are supply transformers made for stepper systems that step the mains voltage down to the AC supply voltage of a stepper motor drive. They are used in machine panels with stepper drives to supply one or more drives from a single transformer. This category includes GMT toroidal stepper system transformers with 70 V AC output voltage; 60 W single-output, 120 W two-output and 180 W three-output models are offered. Choose the transformer according to the number of outputs matching the number of drives you will supply, the total power of the drives, and whether the output voltage stays within the AC input voltage range the drive allows. Drives with DC input only cannot be supplied directly from these transformers. A stepper transformer provides AC output and does not regulate the voltage; it does not replace a switching power supply with regulated DC output.
