Laser Distance Meters

A laser distance meter (laser measure) is a handheld measuring instrument that calculates the distance between the device and a target from the reflection of the laser beam it sends to the target. It is used to take room and run lengths alone during surveys, to work out cable and trunking lengths, and to calculate area and volume, while laser rangefinders give the distance of far targets in golf and field work. This category includes Unit laser distance meters with 50 m, 70 m, 100 m, 120 m and 150 m ranges, the LM40T and LM60T that combine a laser measure with a tape measure, and the LM600G, LM1000G and LM1500G laser rangefinders. Choose the measuring range, the accuracy, calculation functions such as area, volume, Pythagorean and indirect measurement, and the supply type according to the distance and environment you will work in. The range value is given for suitable reflection conditions; in bright daylight and on dark surfaces the usable distance may be shorter. Laser rangefinders do not replace a laser distance meter in building measurement: accuracy is given at the ±2 mm level for laser distance meters, while for rangefinders it is at the meter level.

How to choose Laser Distance Meters

A laser distance meter (laser measure) is a handheld measuring instrument that calculates the distance between the device and a target from the reflection of the laser beam it sends to the target. • Identify the measurement or fastening task and the required insulation safety rating.
  • Select jaw profile, cross-section range and accessories for the conductor or fastener standard.
  • Check CAT voltage category and replacement tip or die availability for field conditions.
