Reclosing Units
An automatic reclosing unit is an auxiliary device that closes a residual current protection switch again by itself when the switch has opened because of a temporary leakage. It is used in unattended panels that are hard to reach for maintenance and in places where a continuous supply is wanted. Before choosing, check the unit's compatibility with the switch series, its supply voltage and its reclosing time. The Sigma SCRC-03 operates at a rated supply voltage of 230 V and is compatible with the 2 and 4 pole models of the SHM, SGM, SFM, SPM and SJM series. Reclosing times are 10, 60 and 300 seconds. There are auxiliary contact and reset contact outputs, and these outputs are used to pass the status to a monitoring or signaling circuit. A reclosing unit does not replace a residual current protection switch; it provides no protection on its own and works only together with a compatible switch. Because the reclosing behavior in a permanent fault depends on the time setting, the operating requirements of the installation should be considered before the setting is made.

How to choose Reclosing Units
An automatic reclosing unit is an auxiliary device that closes a residual current protection switch again by itself when the switch has opened because of a temporary leakage. It is used in unattended panels that are hard to reach for maintenance and in places where a continuous supply is wanted.
- Separate overcurrent/leakage protection, motor starting and local isolation requirements.
- Select rated current, pole count and breaking capacity (kA) from the installation calculation.
- Match coil voltage, auxiliary contacts and tripping curve to the control circuit and load type.
Frequently asked questions
What is Reclosing Units and where is it used?
An automatic reclosing unit is an auxiliary device that closes a residual current protection switch again by itself when the switch has opened because of a temporary leakage. It is used in unattended panels that are hard to reach for maintenance and in places where a continuous supply is wanted.
What should I compare when choosing Reclosing Units?
Before choosing, check the unit's compatibility with the switch series, its supply voltage and its reclosing time.
Where can I find technical details for Reclosing Units products?
