Electric Vehicle Charging Sockets
Electric vehicle charging sockets are connectors at the end of a charging station's output cable that connect the station to the vehicle's charging inlet. They are used in manufacturing DC fast charging stations and in replacing worn or damaged cable sockets in the field. This category includes CCS2 type DC charging sockets from the Bemis E-V Charge series; models with rated currents of 150 A, 250 A and 400 A are offered with a 5 m cable with one open end, and the socket holder on which the socket hangs on the station is in the same series. Choose the socket by the rated current that matches the station's DC output current, the connector type compatible with the vehicle's charging inlet, cable length, and the cross-section of the power and signal cores. Because the open end of the cable is connected inside the station, the core cross-sections and connection layout must match the station manufacturer's data. A CCS2 socket is for DC charging only; it does not replace the Type 2 socket used in AC charging units and charging cables.

How to choose Electric Vehicle Charging Sockets
Electric vehicle charging sockets are connectors at the end of a charging station's output cable that connect the station to the vehicle's charging inlet. They are used in manufacturing DC fast charging stations and in replacing worn or damaged cable sockets in the field.
- Determine whether backup power bridging (UPS) or voltage regulation is required.
- Calculate kVA rating, phase configuration and backup runtime from the critical load list.
- Verify battery bank, bypass topology and monitoring interface requirements.
