Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

An electric vehicle charging station is a fixed charging unit that communicates with the vehicle to signal the current that can be drawn and transfers mains power to the vehicle. It is used to charge a parked vehicle with alternating current (AC) in residential garages, housing complexes and business parking lots. This page includes Schneider Electric's Schneider Charge and Charge Pro series; models are available at 7.4 kW single-phase, and 11 kW and 22 kW three-phase power ratings, with a 4, 5 or 7 meter fixed cable or a T2S (shuttered Type 2) socket. Choose the station by whether the installation is single-phase or three-phase, the AC power accepted by the vehicle's onboard charger, your preference for a fixed cable or a socket, and the communication features you need. In AC charging, the vehicle's onboard charger limits the power; for example, a 22 kW station charges a vehicle that supports 11 kW at 11 kW at most. On the Charge Pro, versions with an MID meter and a 4G modem are indicated in the product name. The supply line and protection devices are determined according to the project and the manufacturer's instructions. The AC charging units on this page do not replace DC fast chargers at public stations.
