Unit UT503PV is an insulation resistance tester that measures PV insulation resistance on live photovoltaic lines and ordinary insulation resistance on de-energized lines, with 125 V, 250 V, 500 V and 1000 V test voltages, reaching 4000 MΩ at 500 V and 1000 V. Insulation resistance accuracy ranges from ±(1.5%+5) to ±(5%+6); PV insulation resistance is measured at 500 V and 1000 V. DC voltage of 5 – 1000 V (±(1%+4)) and AC voltage of 5 – 600 V (±(1%+4)) are recognized and measured automatically. Short-circuit current is <1.5 mA for IR and <1.2 mA for PV IR measurement; it provides stepping voltage, time measurement, a compare function (IR), auto discharge and a high voltage alarm. It stores 1000 sets and transfers data over a USB cable or the Bluetooth app. It is used for insulation resistance testing of photovoltaic power generation panels, battery energy storage and new energy vehicles. In the energized device test, IR measurement must not be performed above 25 V, and for PV IR measurement the device voltage must not exceed DC 1000 V. It is rated IP54 (with the cap closed) and CAT II 1000 V / CAT III 600 V, runs on 6 × LR6 AA batteries and weighs about 0.5 kg. Test leads and a banana-to-MC4 test lead are supplied.
