Unit UTx318 is a lightweight thermal imaging monocular with a 384 x 288 infrared detector, a 0.4 in LCOS display (1280 × 960) and an 18 mm lens. The field of view is 14.6° × 11°, thermal sensitivity ≤40 mK and frame rate ≤50 Hz; focus is manual and the diopter adjustment is -5D to +3D. The DDE image algorithm keeps detail in scenes with a high dynamic range. The detection range is 299 m for a rabbit-sized target, 944 m for a human and 2289 m for a vehicle. Photo storage and an MCX video output are provided; there is no Wi-Fi. The built-in 4000 mAh Li-ion battery runs for at least 8 hours. The monocular is rated IP67 and 2 m drop proof and weighs 428 g.
