GMT Analog Output Modules
An analog output module is an expansion module that converts a numerical value calculated in the PLC program into a continuous voltage or current signal such as ±10 V or 0-20 mA. It is used where stepless adjustment is needed, such as giving a speed reference to a frequency inverter, positioning a proportional valve, or sending a measured value to an indicator. This category includes Delta Electronics, ABB and GMT models with 2, 4, 6 and 8 channels, voltage (V), current (I) or both output types, and 12 and 16 bit resolution, as well as right-expansion and left-expansion types. Select the analog output module according to the signal type and range expected by the device to be driven, the channel count, the resolution, the conversion time and compatibility with your PLC series. On a current output, the maximum load resistance that can be connected is limited, while on a voltage output the minimum load resistance is limited; verify the values from the module datasheet. An analog output is not a power output; it only produces a reference signal and does not directly supply a motor, heater or valve coil.

How to choose Analog Output Modules
An analog output module is an expansion module that converts a numerical value calculated in the PLC program into a continuous voltage or current signal such as ±10 V or 0-20 mA. It is used where stepless adjustment is needed, such as giving a speed reference to a frequency inverter, positioning a proportional valve, or sending a measured value to an indicator.
- Separate sensing, motion control, logic processing and operator interface requirements.
- Select signal type, supply voltage, communication protocol and I/O count for the machine network.
- Verify housing size, sensing distance and PNP/NPN output polarity against the PLC input card.
