CEE Extension Sockets

A CEE extension socket is a portable socket connected to the end of a flexible cable that accepts CEE standard plugs with its female contacts. It is used at the output end of extension cords, in generator and portable panel connections, and for supplying machines that have a panel plug or wall plug. This category lists TP Elektrik, Bemis, Bals and PCE extension sockets at 16 A, 32 A, 63 A and 125 A currents, with three, four and five contacts, in IP44 and IP67 ratings, at rated voltages such as 24 V, 220-240 V and 380-415 V; there is also a black series for lighting and sound systems. Select the extension socket with the same rated current, pole arrangement, voltage and clock position as the plug of the device to be supplied, and suited to the cable cross-section and the IP requirements of the environment. On an extension cord, the socket is connected to the end that supplies power and the plug to the end that receives it; this way the live contacts always stay inside the insulating sleeves. An extension socket is not designed for fixed mounting and does not replace a wall socket; where a point is to be fixed to a wall or panel, a wall socket or panel socket is used.
