Industrial Sensors

Industrial sensors are automation elements that detect the presence, position or passage of an object without contact and send it to a PLC or relay as an electrical signal. They are used in jobs such as counting products on a conveyor, detecting cylinder and spindle position, level monitoring and part presence checking. Inductive sensors are preferred for metal targets, capacitive sensors for non-metallic materials such as plastic, liquids and granules, and photoelectric sensors (photocells) for longer distances. This category also includes fiber optic sensors, light curtains, magnetic and piston sensors, and sensor connectors and cables; most of the products are Lanbao and Isıso branded, and ABB offers non-contact safety sensors. Choose the material to be detected, sensing distance, housing size, output type (NPN or PNP, NO or NC), supply voltage and connection style according to the mounting location on the machine and the PLC input card. A sensor with a PNP output applies the supply positive to the output wire, and a sensor with an NPN output applies the supply negative; the type of the PLC input card must match this.

How to choose Industrial Sensors

Industrial sensors are automation elements that detect the presence, position or passage of an object without contact and send it to a PLC or relay as an electrical signal. They are used in jobs such as counting products on a conveyor, detecting cylinder and spindle position, level monitoring and part presence checking.

  • Separate sensing, motion control, logic processing and operator interface requirements.
  • Select signal type, supply voltage, communication protocol and I/O count for the machine network.
  • Verify housing size, sensing distance and PNP/NPN output polarity against the PLC input card.
