They are used between PLC inputs and outputs and sensors, encoders and load cells, in building automation, alarm and card access systems, and in serial communication lines between devices. The subcategories are divided by type code: LIYY and LIYCY are PVC types, while LIHH and LIHCH are halogen-free types; in the code, C indicates a copper braid shield, (St) an aluminum foil shield, 2Y polyethylene insulation or sheath, and TP twisted pairs.
