How to choose Control Transformers
The Entes series is offered in 230/24 V and 400/24 V models in steps from 25 VA to 630 VA. The weight and the A, B, C and D dimensions grow with power, so the space inside the panel and the screw hole spacing should be calculated in advance. Because the output voltage is 24 V, low-voltage elements such as coils and indicators are connected. A suitable protection element must be used on the primary side. A reserve power margin should be allowed above the load for every step used.
Frequently asked questions
What are Control Transformers and where are they used?
A control transformer is a small-power transformer that isolates the control circuits in a panel from the mains voltage and supplies them at low voltage. It is used in panels that need a 24 V output, such as for relay and contactor coils and pilot lights.
What should I compare when choosing Control Transformers?
Choose the power step according to the total VA of the loads, and check that the primary voltage is 230 or 400 V and the inrush current.
What should Control Transformers not be confused with and how do they differ from similar products?
A control transformer does not replace a power transformer, because it supplies only the control circuit and not high-power loads.
