How to choose MCB Busbars

The Molwex MBM series is single-phase and the MBT series is three-phase, available in lengths of 53 cm and 106 cm and current ratings of 63, 80 and 120 A. The product information includes capacity expressions such as 10 or 20 groups, 30 or 60 modules and 31 or 61 holes. Copper thickness is given as 0.8 and 1.0 mm, and the neutral-earth busbar is listed as a separate group. During installation, the busbar length must be enough for the number of breakers and must fit the layout dimensions in the panel. The busbar current rating must not be lower than the total load to be connected.

Frequently asked questions

What are MCB Busbars and where are they used?

An MCB busbar is a distribution busbar used to feed the inputs of miniature circuit breakers from a common copper busbar. It is used in distribution panels so that many single-phase or three-phase breakers can be fed by the busbar without wiring each one individually.

What should I compare when choosing MCB Busbars?

Choose the number of phases, the busbar current and the busbar length according to the number of breakers, and check the space in the panel and the current rating.

What should MCB Busbars not be confused with and how do they differ from similar products?

An MCB busbar does not replace a cable terminal or a distribution block, because it only feeds a suitable row of breakers.
